There is something about working with yarn and wool that makes me feel relaxed, composed and grounded. Perhaps even connected to our collective past. Some kind of primordial tie to the humans we used to be. Today, we are so bombarded with technology that we feel lost if we are not attached to a smart phone, a tablet or a computer. (Heck, I got behind in my blog because my computer fried!) And how many of us start to sweat, when we can’t check our email or texts or update a “status” at all times. Too many “tweets” and not enough real tweets from the natural world. For many, our daily lives have become all about mass production and commercialization. Style and art are born from CAD blueprints and forged by "robotic" arms. So much so, we’ve lost respect for “craft” and "skill". We no longer grow own food, make our own clothes, craft our furniture and so on. To much of what we have is mundane, typical, identical and disposable.
